The service is being presented in memory of the late Rev. William F. Kirtdoll.

This is the 19th-annual service presented by the William F. Kirtdoll Foundation.

“Every year ministers volunteer to participate in the worship service. The service is open to the public,” said foundation Chairperson Sharon Kirtdoll.

“As we remember the significance of Good Friday, we focus on the gifts to others in life and not only in death. We will come together to worship and celebrate,” explained Kirtdoll.

“We started this because Rev. Kirtdoll liked to have people come together in a worship service. We organized this service so people from throughout the community can come together,” she said.

“We will have 11 pastors participating in the service, including our host, the Rev. Maurice Lawson of Second Baptist Church as well as the Rev. Robert Harris, Bishop Roy C. Dawkins, the Rev. Vaughn Foster, the Rev. Willie Nevels, Elder Robert Montgomery, the Rev. Donald Creech, the Rev. Ashley Steele, the Rev. Everett Mitchell and the Rev. Calvin McLoyd. And the Rev. Benjamin Calvert will deliver the final message of the evening,” Kirtdoll said.

Music during the service will be presented by the Sons of Second male chorus
